The Zionist General’s Son Support Palestinian Cause

I found the book "The General's Son" , written by the Jewish Zionist author "Miko Peled", a wonderful painting of a Zionist who believed in his humanity and realized truth from falsehood portrayed by Zionist propaganda about Israel's right of the State of Palestine.

This writer’s conceptions of Israel changed,  he turned into a Jewish activist defending the Palestinians and their right to a democratic state in their country, Palestine alongside the State of Israel. In 1997, they were indignant at the oppression of the State of Israel against the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

This incident made him discover the ugliness of discrimination, torture, injustice and humiliation of the Palestinians who live in Gaza and the West Bank who remained in Palestine after 1948 due to the hands of the Israeli authorities, after his obsession of the  Zionist soldier’s image, and dream to join the special units and wear the red hat which is considered as a symbol of strength and courage in Israel, he later contributed in various wonderful humanitarian efforts during his support for the Palestinian cause.

Miko's father was not an ordinary person in Israel, but he was one of the top generals of the Zionist state at the beginning of its establishment in 1948 and he fought the war in which the Arabs were defeated in 1967, which led to Israel's occupation of Palestine and the transfer  its historical name to Israel.. He was one of the greatest leaders of Israel at the time and developed a plan for this  war with Israel's leaders that ended with the Arab defeat and Israel's occupation of the West Bank, Gaza and the Agor Valley in Jordan.

His son Miko Peled was born in Jerusalem and his father was in Haifa in 1923, they were Jewish residents of Palestine before the Zionist occupation in 1948.

Despite his father's loyalty to Israel as an official state for Jews, he imagined that this state would be democratic and would treat the Palestinians in Tel Aviv, the West Bank, including Gaza humanely, and to see Jews with Palestinians living together peacefully.

But to this man, who was born in Palestine, knowing it’s people, and belonged to the Palestinian nationality,  the illusion was removed from his eyes, and he paved a new path in support of the rights of the Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza and the Jordan Valley. He retired from his high rank as a general in the Israeli army and tried to understand that people who Israel robbed them of thier land.. He decided to study Arabic literature which made him fall in love with the language and its Arab family.

Then he turned from a majestic general to Arabic Literature  lecturer at Tel Aviv University. He had a vision for solving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, as he was one of the first to open lines of communication with the Palestinians are from the Zionists as his relationship with them developed  defended their rights until the Zionists antagonized him and became accused of being the lover of the Arabs. Thus, he distanced himself from his leader friends in Israel, such as Rabin, who was previously one of his best friends as he did not even visit him when he was suffering from cancer until he died, because he mentioned one day that Rabin doesn’t want to peace.

Miko inherited from his father the importance of principle stability, as he also gained his ethical morals from his mother when she didn’t accept to live in a house that belonged to a Palestinian family when the army offered her and mentioned to her husband

"I can’t accept to live in a house of my neighbors that were previously living a normal life until the army expelled them where some of them couldn’t even finish drinking their hot coffee in the morning, and were forced to move to shelters after being respectable, secured in their homes."

She later chose a small apartment that the Palestinians never lived in.

General Matti Peled may be one of the first people to realize the inherent racism in the Zionist entity, therefore he opposed his state and sought justice for the Palestinians in their country.

As for Miko, his son, he believed in coexistence with the Palestinians and started calling for the idea of a one state, where there would be one constitution for all and one vote for one person and the transformation of the racist system into a democratic one. He emphasized the need for the return of Palestinian refugees and believed that the issue of this return is a test the most prominent in the sincerity of those who call for a peaceful solution to the Palestinian conflict.

He once boldly said to the Zionist states: If the Jews have lived in Palestine for 3000 years and want to return, then what about the Palestinians who still possess the keys to their homes and their documents only 70 years ago, don't they have the right to return to their homeland?

He also did not mind a Palestinian winning the presidency of the state or the presidency of its ministry as long as he won in fair and democratic elections.

He said in a lecture in” Kuala Lumpur “ that the solution to the Israeli-Palestinian issue is simple which is for the Israeli occupier to restore the rights that it robbed from the Palestinian people, and we have nothing but to continue concentrating to achieve this action.

Will the wish of this Jewish-Zionist fighter be fulfilled in establishing justice in Palestine with the Palestinians who believe in solving the Palestinian issue by peaceful means?

The Palestinians and Arabs agree him in addition to a large number of Jews who do not believe in the State of Israel and the Zionists in America and Israel who seek with the Palestinians a peaceful solution to the Palestinian issue.
