I was one of the first advocates of family planning in Bahrain with a group of individuals back in the seventies, as we established a Family planning association in 1975, I worked for years to achieve this important goal, and after these long years, did The Ministry of Social Affairs or the Statistics Department conduct a population census showing the positive impact made by this association from great activity with the Ministries of Labor and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Health for family planning in Bahrain through the means of the various media since that time? Have our efforts and the efforts of the government in family planning been achieved in the kingdom?

Our association’s main goal was make families notice that large number of children in limited or wealthy families and their care is an important and a dangerous matter in the face of the inventions that have entered every home and tempt young people and adults with moral deviation in addition to drug addiction and their devastating consequences for young people in families and homelands.

We are all aware that large number of children and unawareness of the importance of education and interactivity with children to realize their behaviors is viral in Bahrain. There are no laws in the country, that requires a study men’s financial and health condition before he decides to marry his second, third, or fourth wife, Although, God Almighty has set the condition of justice between wives if he wants polygamy. Where is the equality and justice that men must practice between their multiple wives in our society? Shouldn’t the Ministry of Justice include rules and regulations regarding polygamy to impose what God has ordered ?

How can a man marry a woman and have 7 children and think about marrying another just because of the need of renewing his marital life and to satisfy his desires, and most of these marriages occur in low-income or poor families ?

This action is happening in Bahrain, as officials and clerics in the Ministry of Justice aren’t aware about how men can be fair and form justice and quality between his multiple wives and children, and what tragedies the children experience due to the material deprivation and educational neglecting.

Shouldn’t state officials face the increase in drugs and foreign media platforms such as Netflix that includes pornographic scenes that have entered every home through monthly subscriptions without government oversight, to notice that polygamy was not established by God as an absolute right for a man, because it requires in its practice the justice between the two wives, I’d like to inquire about  the fair percentage of these husbands? I do not think that it increases  5% if not less.

It is the duty of the clergy to see what is the benefit of families in this matter not to allow men to marry multiple wives easily because God Almighty has allowed men to practice polygamy with justice and equality. Where is the justice and equality in their practice of polygamy? What I’m stating is practiced by many husbands that cause Physical and emotional deprivation for their children. The Ministry of Justice must focus on the issue of full justice in terms of the financial ability and health of the husband, and  his ability to meet the needs of those wives, raising and caring to their children, provide the requirements of a decent life, education and guidance for them before the judge approves his marriage to another woman.

Most of those who practice polygamy are either with a low-income, or uneducated religiously or logically, which makes them have random children without noticing their financial or health difficulties which makes their children become victims of criminals in Bahrain by spreading drugs among them, through their schools and other places where they meet, and there is no family control over them. They purchase and sell drugs to forget their misery and deprivation due to the neglection and carelessness of their parents.

How long will we wait for the issuance of this law, which is in the interest of the Bahraini families, in the Personal Status Law? As long as God Almighty did not forbid that restriction to ensure the interests of the children. I am wondering: Why did the punishments mentioned in the Noble Qur’an change to other punishments because God, Glory be to Him, didn’t set penalties for those who change it to suit the modern era, such as the flogging of the adulterer and the adulteress, if it is proven that they were seen by four people and thief's hand was cut off and he was replaced with prison.

The Egyptian government has recently taken care of this important issue through female deputies in the House of Representatives and the government has found that the Personal Status Law has been going on for 100 years without development commensurate with the developments of the present era from the presence of electronic communication and satellite stations through subscription, and there is no government control over them, the importance of studying This topic and its application in the interest of the family, especially the children who face gross neglect from their parents in The shadow of the practice of polygamy, As the state found, for the progress of its people, to set well-thought-out laws that do not contradict the teachings of the Islamic religion In those two important topics which have become unrestricted with the dangers of technology and drugs in our world today as no parent can raise more than five children, whether they are rich or limited Income because money also does not raise children if their father pursues his desires for polygamy.
